6 Months

Well, on Monday, July 11th, turned 6 months! our little boy is growing up! As always, I CAN'T believe how fast it has gone! He officially "rounds up" to 1 year, which I know will be here before I know (gasp-that sort of takes my breath away just thinking about it)! I don't know if Colin or I could be anymore in love with Finley! He's truly the best thing that has ever happened in our lives. He brings us constant joy and happiness. Finn is a strong-willed yet content little guy. He LOVES to just take in every new situation, experience, and/or person to the fullest. It's amazing to watch him grown and learn so much with each new day.

Here's a little bit about Finn.

Weight: 18 pounds 5 ounces. (66 percentile)

Length: 27 1/2" (85 Percentile)

Head: 17 3/4" (85 Percentile)

Sleep at Night: he does great (10-11 hours straight). Getting him to sleep is another story, though with lots of frustration (this is where his strong-will comes in), but we are working on it!

Naps: What are those?? Ha! Maybe if mama's pushing him in the stroller or chauffeuring him around town. Again, we are working on this!

Food: We started solids just after he turned 4 months and he LOVES them. He loves his oatmeal, and nearly all fruits and vegetables. Carrots are still a little "iffy," but WOW-never knew prunes could be so DELICIOUS to anyone! Other favorites are apples, peaches, pears, bananas (okay, pretty much any fruit), sweet potatoes, and peas. He wants to eat EVERYTHING we eat, reaching and grunting for it! We are going to try to introduce him to formula this next month, so we'll see how that goes.

Playtime: He love, love, LOVES his jumperoo! He also loves his new stuffed Moose from cousin Tyler, his giraffe teether, or anything he can chew on, and mirrors!

Development: He's rolling over from his tummy to his back and has yet to figure out how to go the other way. I'm pretty sure he hates tummy time so much that he'll never go onto his tummy intentionally-ha! He's grabbing for things all of the time. When he stays on his tummy, he manages to rotate in circles too. He hates it when mama leaves the room and often cries ( lucky me). He's very tired of being on his back, so he's getting really good at sitting up to play. Oh, and he LOVES to play with and suck on his toes (I mean, who doesn't?).

Favorites:His favorite song is still Jesus Loves Me, and he loves the Bible...turns our he's very spiritual:) He also loves his Sesame Street books, especially pages with Big Bird. His favorite game is peek-a-boo.

Smiles:A few things that make him smile are making funny noises with your mouth, saying "mamamama," kissing his tummy and toes, or simply playing with his feet.

Tickles: He is ticklish behind his arms, his chest right below his chin, hips, and thighs!

Teeth: he has 2 front bottom teeth!

Other: This will be my last full month off with Finn (boo). I am trying to enjoy and savor every last moment (tears, spit up, poop, and all).
